Lazer3D LZ7 video review by YouTube channel Tek Everything, tested with Ryzen 1700 and MSI GTX 1070 Aero ITX

Thank you to Jay from Tek Everything for this fantastic video review of the Lazer3D LZ7 SFF Gaming PC Case:

As always Tek Everything have put together a great in depth video, the quality of the camera work is exceptional and the case looks great.  I think Jay really hit the nail on the head with his build and captured what the case is all about – compact and quiet performance with sensible cooling.

I recommend for you to go and check out the rest of Tek Everything’s content, I’ve put the links to his pages at the bottom of this post.

This is the first Ryzen build I have seen built into the LZ7, so its good to see that even an 8 Core 16 Thread Ryzen 1700 overclocked to 3.6 Ghz can be kept in check even with a tiny cooler like the Noctua NH-L9a.  Moving up to larger coolers such as the Noctua NH-L12 should give you even more cooling potential.

I’m not a ‘fan’ of how the 120mm Slim Noctua Fan looks in this build with the open side panel, the open panel is better suited to 140mm sized slim fans which take up the whole opening, but if you want the quietest performance then this fan is your best choice.  As Jay points out in the video the fan can be covered if you choose an alternative side vent pattern, but you will lose some of the airflow performance by doing this.  Noctua have hinted that they will be releasing a 140mm version of their slim fan in the future.

First impressions from people who bought the MSI GTX 1070 AERO ITX were really positive, when compared against the Gigabyte GTX 1070 ITX it is said to be even quieter and cooler under load.   GPU manufacturers measure their cards in different ways so I was not certain that the MSI AERO would fit, this video shows that it in the LZ7 no problem, whats more the temperatures under load are excellent and Jay was impressed at how quiet the card runs.  If you are wondering which GTX 1070 ITX card to get, the MSI AERO should be top of your list.
