HT5 Now Supports HDPLEX 500w GaN

Published on 28th April, 2024

Due to popular request every HT5 is now supplied with an extra alternative rear panel which adds compatibility for the HDPLEX 500w GaN AIO power supply.

The HT5 was previously only compatible with the 250w GaN version, as the 500w version is slightly too long to fit inside the HT5 chassis, this new rear panel allows the 500w GaN to sit flush with the rear panel of the case.

Although it’s surely possible to fit 500 watts of power inside the HT5 making a tiny little power house, your system will likely run quite hot, although there will be use cases for this, you may struggle to run your system quietly whilst under full load.

For a more rounded build, don’t underestimate what you can do with the HDPLEX 250w GaN, this compact power supply still allows you to use a high end 65w CPU in combination with something like the low profile RTX 4060 which runs at 115w TDP bringing your overall system in at under 200w of overall power consumption. At this level of power draw the HT5 will provide ample cooling performance for a cool and quiet system capable of running the latest games at high fps and resolutions.

DESIGN UPDATE – March 2024:

  1. Addition of HDPLEX 500w GaN AIO power supply compatibility
